BP Pulse is one of the UK's biggest public charging networks, with chargers at BP forecourts, motorway services and partner sites. Rapid and ultra-rapid charging costs 79p to 93p per kWh depending on the site, and 89p at most of them. Slower 7kW chargers cost around 65p.
You can pay by contactless card or in the BP Pulse app. A monthly subscription costs £7.85 and takes about 20% off, bringing rapid charging down to 63p to 74p per kWh, or 69p at most sites.

|---|---|---|
| Standard (7kW) | 65p | – |
| Rapid (50kW to under 150kW) | 79p to 93p (89p at most sites) | 63p to 74p (69p at most sites) |

Per kWh, as reported in October 2026. Prices vary by site, so check the BP Pulse app or the charger before you start.
Is the BP Pulse subscription worth it?
At most sites the subscription saves 20p per kWh (89p down to 69p). The £7.85 monthly fee is covered once you charge about 40 kWh a month on BP Pulse (£7.85 ÷ 20p = 39 kWh). That's roughly one rapid charge from 20% to 80% in a car with a 60 kWh battery.
If you mostly charge at home and only use BP Pulse on the odd long trip, it's probably not worth it. If you rely on it every month, it is.
Watch out for overstay fees
On 50kW, 150kW and 300kW chargers, BP Pulse charges an overstay fee of £10 if a session runs past 90 minutes, rising to a maximum of £20 past 150 minutes. Most cars finish a rapid charge well within 90 minutes, but unplug and move on when you're done.
