Lidl EV charging cost
Quick answer
Rapid, with Lidl Plus
59p per kWh
Rapid, standard rate
74p per kWh
How to save
Lidl Plus app
Lidl owns and runs its own chargers rather than using an outside network. In September 2026 it cut the rapid charging price for Lidl Plus members from 62p to 59p per kWh. Without Lidl Plus, the standard rapid rate is 74p.
About a third of Lidl's 1,010-plus UK stores have rapid chargers. Lidl is spending £10 million to add around 100 more at existing stores this financial year, and most new stores get them too.
How much Lidl Plus saves
The Lidl Plus rate is 15p per kWh cheaper than the standard rate. On a typical rapid charge from 20% to 80% in a car with a 60 kWh battery, that's 36 kWh: £21.24 with Lidl Plus against £26.64 without, a saving of £5.40 each time. The Lidl Plus app is free, so if you charge at Lidl, it's worth having.
How to charge at Lidl
- Download the free Lidl Plus app and sign up.
- Use the app to start your charging session so you get the member rate.
- Check the car park signs for a maximum stay, as Lidl car parks are for customers while they shop.
