Motormaths publishes free calculators and plain-English guides on what it really costs to charge and run an electric car in the UK.

Charging prices are confusing. Home rates, overnight tariffs and dozens of public networks all charge differently, and the gap between the cheapest and dearest option can be ten times or more. We put the numbers side by side so you can see what you'd pay.

How we check prices

We check tariff and network prices regularly against suppliers, charging apps and reputable comparison sources, and every page shows when it was last checked. Prices vary by region and change often, so always confirm with the supplier or charger before you rely on a figure.

How we make money

Motormaths is free to use. We may show adverts, and some links to products or energy suppliers may be affiliate links, which means we can earn a commission if you buy or sign up, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the prices or rankings we show.
